Try the dictionary next, it's a hard read but there's some fun words in that sucker I tell ya what.
If you can find a short story collection by Ray Bradbury, I'd probably recommend that? Idk, it depends on your taste with prose tbh
Seeing as this is a genuine reccomendation: I hate prose without illustration. It's very childish to admit but if there isn't one cool drawing on the cover or in between the pages of a book, I simply cannot read it. Might be my autism, might be some undiagnosed visual hunger...
Now, if the topic is interesting and if it's quick to hook me up, then yeah, I'll read it with no problem. I remember reading IHNM&IMS and The Sheep Look Up without much hassle.

Honestly, I think that Ray Bradbury is so imaginative that I don't really mind. But I don't think that's childish, I know a lot of people who are like that and it's completely valid. My favorite stories are "There Will Come Soft Rains", "The Veldt", "No Particular Night or Morning", "August 2002: Night Meeting", "The Fire Balloons", and "The Long Rain". Sorry for the long reply, lol. I think you can find free PDFs on the internet if you find them individually, but if you're uncomfortable with piracy, that's fine.

not a book exactly (well, they have books that are collections of their comics), but Penny Arcade is a fun read! i recommend starting at the very first comic (1998/11/18, The SIN of Long Load Times) but you can read in whatever order you like :)
