You should be aware that the animal attacked him first. There is nothing wrong with defending yourself from an attack. Since the scales got knocked out while fighting and cartoonishly turned into accessories the creature is alive and well, not skinned alive.

This movie is really nice. The animation, visuals, character designs... They're all really charming and you can see how much effort they've been given. The music is just out of this world and I'm really invested in seeing more episodes of this. Keep up the good work, dude.
